noon. On the way home, the two of them spent almost the entire time staring out the windows of the van.
When I brought the two of them home, I wasn't sure just how to integrate them into the rest of the group. I know that every ferret has its own personality and that some of those personalities just don't mesh. However, they seemed to know just what to do. Smokey and Fuzzer had several tussles (no screaming, but these were world-class matches!), until Fuzzer proved that he really *is* the Awe-nold Schwarzenegger of the house. After that, Smokey never questioned who was in charge!
Smokey was not exactly a mild ferret. He was something of a strong-arm--uh--strong-paw ferret. He loved to catch Add-A-Kiss (a tiny girl that lives here, but who is almost all vim and vinegar!) and drag her around a bit. Though Rusti lived in his cage, when out for play time, she was also fair game. Rusti wasn't a push-over, though. She's old, but she knows the value of laying on her back and using all four feet for protection! I think she hides a nail file in her cage somewhere and sharpens those nails every night!
Smokey also loved to tease the dickens out of Ziggy, my other insulinomic ferret. Ziggy is a sliver panda blaze. Ziggy was one of Smokey's favorite toys, because Ziggy doesn't do anything fast.
Smokey loved to wait until Ziggy found something interesting and flopped down, then Smokey would go over and lay on Ziggy. Smokey also loved to steal Ziggy's snacks, food, or even a toy that Ziggy was playing with! I know that Smokey cared for Ziggy, though. When it was time to put everyone to bed, I would often find Smokey and Ziggy curled up in a ball together, sleeping peacefully.
